How the Protests against Globalism Have Evolved

For some reason, it just seems that 2016 was the year that regular, everyday people have had enough, stood up, and said “no more”. I don’t attribute this to Great Britain’s referendum to leave the European Union or the election of Donald Trump in the United States, but I do see these as actions echoing the an overarching sentiment, a universal and profound rejection of globalistic politics.

However, this was the start of a years-long battle; now that the curtain had been lifted revealing a snarling beast, the beast can’t do anything but bite back at those that exposed it. Where the globalist system has fought against the rights and freedoms of people, people have fought back in four major instances over the last six years, each achieving more spectacular results than the last. While it’s easy to look at these events as resulting in failure in the sense of achieving meaningful change, what links these four instances together is how each successive protest had learned from the failures of its forerunners.

The Yellow Vest Protests (Mouvement des gilets jaunes)

When: 2018-2020

Where: France

Why: Globalistic policies in French government

Number of Protesters: 250,000 – 1.2 million

Result: Some consessions made by the Macron Government; shut down due to COVID mandates in March 2020.

We can start with our look into the Protests against Globalism with the Yellow Vest Movement in France. Interestingly enough, part of what inspired this article is the re-election of Emmanuel Macron who was also consequentially listed as member of the 2004 World Economic Forum’s Young Leaders Initiative. While there were some whispers of voter fraud in the 2017 French election, it wasn’t outside the realm of reality for Macron to defeat the “Trump-Lite” candidate, Marine LePen, who ran on a mostly single-issue anti-immigration platform after seeking to “rehabilitate” her image after divorcing herself from the “far-right” National Front. Macron’s honeymoon period lasted a whole five seconds before the French people began demanding concessions as the result of poor government administration and demographic stressors.

While the Yellow Jacket Movement was a good thing in spirit, the overall goals only sought to only ease the symptoms rather than cure the ailment. Their goals were focused on reducing austerity measures, increasing the minimal wage, improving standard of living, increased government transparency, and a constitutional proposal that allows citizens to propose referendums.

Out of all 42 demands, the government conceded by raising the minimum wage and lowering taxes which is about as close to saying “let them eat cake” as you can get in France. However, the ultimate goal of the movement, restoring accountability and transparency in French government, had failed.

Lessons learned: The French government was able to put the kibosh on the protests all together by enacting a series of COVID Lockdown mandates across the country. Since COVID was a relatively new thing and the general public didn’t know much about it, they just sort of gave in without giving it much thought. However, the most glaring indicator of failure was due to the simple fact that the government was able to control these protests. We see this here in America, as well. During a “free speech demonstration”, they might designate a “stump” or a small area classified as the “free speech area” as if nowhere else around it is. Additionally, municipalities will attempt to create barriers by requiring permits to protest. In France, local police and military forces were able to mount barricades to re-direct traffic, disable communications within the protester’s ranks, and cause confusion among the fog of war. While there was success in the early weeks when protestors showed up in numbers, the general decline of attendance week-by-week allowed local authorities to effectively “handle” the situation. When a government can control a situation, the protestors lose their bargaining chips and signals that the government doesn’t have to concede to anything.

Aftermath: Emmanuel Macron was recently re-elected in a highly questionable and legally dubious election. As an American, you can usually tell this is the case when globalist propaganda outlets release articles like this saying “just trust us, nothing to see here”. Even though the French people likely rejected globalism, globalism remains in full force in France despite all opposition.

The January 6th Protest

When: January 6th, 2021

Where: Washington, D.C.

Why: Interference, irregularities, and rigging in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election

Number of Protesters: 30,000 – 3,000,000

Result: Protest shut down immediately; U.S. Government optics victory

Perhaps the one thing that the U.S. Government has done to make my life easier is by sparing me the need to talk about the January 6th protest; they’ve been talking about it non stop for the last year and a half!

The one thing this protest had up on the Yellow Vests was that they showed up in overwhelming numbers and there was nothing the government could do about it–at least within the conventional means mentioned previously. However, Trump had announced the protest as early as December 19th, providing ample time for the U.S. government to formulate a plan and coordinate a cross-agency operation. Instead of opting to meet force with force as with what had happened in France, they planned a bait-and-switch. All they had to do is dress up a few agents in MAGA gear (Ray Epps, Et al.), blend into the crowd, and wait for their queue for Capitol Police to start letting protesters into the Capitol building.

Lessons Learned: when Saul Alinsky had said “Accuse your opponent of what you are doing, to create confusion and to inculcate voters against the evidence of your own guilt”, January 6th was perhaps the textbook definition of this policy in action. An infinitesimally small minority, which is all it ever takes, had taken the bait, and thus, handing an immediate optics win straight to the very people who were ignoring the will of the American people and enacting the soft coup.

Aftermath: To give you an idea of how major of an optics win this was for them, the U.S. Government has assembled a “Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol” a year and a half after the fact. They started on June 9th, and they’re ongoing at the time this article is being penned. Here’s what normally happens in sane politics: the prevailing party will graciously accept the win, leaving all issues aside until the next election cycle where it is used as a cudgel on a debate stage. They got their 80 year-old Alzheimer’s patient installed in the Oval Office with a uniparty majority (Democrats and RINOs) in both the House and Senate. They got the moon on a stick; what more could they have asked for? Instead, the uniparty is deciding to punish the American people for voting for Donald Trump–plain and simple.

The Canadian Freedom Convoy

When: January 22 – February 23rd, 2022

Where: Ottawa, Canada; across multiple border crossings

Why: COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

Number of Protesters: 18,000 – 2,300,000

Result: Canadian Parliament shut down for more than a month and could not conduct business. Trudeau forced to take extreme measures to end protest; optics defeat for Trudeau and Canadian Government. Forced the topic of Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum into mainstream consciousness.

If the Guinness Book of World Records wasn’t an organization rife with cuckoldry from top to bottom, they would have declared the 2022 Freedom Convoy the largest in history. While the mainstream media will only concede that anywhere between 500-1500 vehicles participated, as many as 50,000 may have participated based on independent accounts. Overall, protesters from all across North America had gathered in Downtown Ottawa to partake in the festivities: barbeque, inflatable hot tubs, bouncy castles for the kids, and luxuries not found in most protests. Point being is that it was more of a block party than a protest; people were just there to have a good time at the expense of the Canadian Government. Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau put himself under a “quarantine” due to COVID-19 concerns only to give an address several days later from an undisclosed location well outside of Ottawa.

This was optics win number one for the protesters: they were partying, carrying on, and having the time of their lives while Justin Trudeau fled from the Capitol under the cover of night just to cope and seethe at a secret government safehouse. If the Canadian government was intending to make Trudeau look like a spineless coward who isn’t fit to run a country, they may have found one point where they can claim success.

Their second optics win was perhaps due to the overall atmosphere of the protest. The mainstream media was real quick to make accusations against the protesters, citing that they had stolen food from a food kitchen among others. Interestingly enough, the convoy planners had let their own journalists across the lines to document the numerous acts of charity that many convoy attendees were involved in.

The good times had come to an end after the Canadian government’s hand was forced; Trudeau had used an obscure emergency act from World War II to freeze bank accounts, arrest people under bogus-sounding technicality charges like “counseling to commit the offense of mischief”, and send in the Mounties to start gassing journalists, crushing skulls, and trampling the elderly.

Lessons Learned: if you can’t outright beat the government, be a martyr. As the result of the convoy making the government look corrupt, weak, and inept, they forced Trudeau’s government to remove all pretense of legitimacy and take illegal action to end it once and for all. That day, the veil had been lifted, even if momentarily. Instead of the government saying “we’ll play by the rules”, they just simply said “forget that, I do whatever I want”.

Aftermath: However, this only means that Canadians aren’t free citizens, but subjects of a tyrannical system where it’s illegal to protest the government and make them look bad. While this may look like a loss for the protesters, whatever Trudeau did is a great way to begin convincing normal, everyday people that something is not right in the halls of power. All the sudden, independent media from across the World Wide Web started looking into the precarious nature of the Trudeau government from the many irregularities found in the 2020 Canadian Election to the government’s connection with Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum. You might be surprised to find that the WEF is connected to all three of the aforementioned elections that have resulted in mass anti-globalistic protests thus far. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.

The Dutch Farmer Protests

When: June 10th, 2022 – Present

Where: The Netherlands

Why: EU Environmental Regulations

Number of protesters: 40,000 – Unknown

Result: none; protest is ongoing

You might be surprised to know that the Netherlands is one of two net exporters of food in all of Europe, the other being Ukraine. You might also be surprised to know that the current EU regulations that the farmers are protesting against are aiming to cut nitrogen oxide and ammonia pollution in half by 2030. Could this have something to do with Project 2030 and a Dutch businessman named Kees Koolen? Could this also be connected to the WEF vision for 2030? Could this also be connected to Agenda 2030 also known as “you will eat the bugs, live in the pod, own nothing, and be happy” plan to achieve equality in all but human misery? Again, I’ll let you decide.

While these protests are ongoing, there’s not much I can report on in terms of a tangible outcome and an aftermath. However, what is known is that these farmers have most definitely learned from the lessons of past protests. They also have the added benefit of geography given the fact that the entirety of the Netherlands is 240 times smaller than Canada; the farmers are capable of making a much larger impact. In all honesty, I wish them the best and pray for their success against the forces of globalism.

Also, they have a freakin’ tank.

Final Thoughts

Some of the natural questions in response to this article might be “are we ever going to win against globalism” or “how many more protests will it take”? To any affect, it’s hard to tell since we can only forecast based on historical events. In order to see any success from the Dutch Farmer protests, for example, they’ll have to:

  1. Find ways to sustain a protest over multiple days, weeks, or even months by planning for the logistics concerning cash, food, and fuel
  2. Be able to actively adapt to any government use-of-force through non-violent means
  3. Establish a semi-centralized chain of command so efforts can continue despite arrests; maintain a communication chain
  4. Stay ahead of the propaganda war by staying out of trouble and chronicling examples of government violence
  5. Stand firm against threats of violence, arrest, or death from the government

In a country like the Netherlands where authority resources are more limited than they would be in a much larger country like France, Canada, or especially the United States, the Dutch Government may not have the ability to answer and might actually be forced to the negotiating table. On the other hand, the protests will quickly fall apart if they fail to maintain all five of these conditions. Again, these are just predictions. Only time will tell if I’m right or wrong.

So if they do fail, what next? What will be the next “thing” to pop off? Will there ever be an escalation to the protests? Will we continue to see acts of civil disobedience or will it erupt into a kinetic conflict? I certainly hope not since I don’t condone violence of any form or fashion. However, one comforting trend we have seen in these protests is that they make up for a lack of physical assertion by coming up with increasingly ingenious solutions to extremely difficult problems.
